To achieve something specific, first, you need to show your own virility to admit that you are not yet the person you want to become. I believe this is really quite cool practical advice.
Most people complain about circumstances, other people’s actions, etc.; or some external factor. It is this external factor that prevents us from achieving our goals.
The most interesting thing in this story is that it is us ourselves, with our actions and thoughts, who set limits for ourselves, which also limits us. It would be more correct to say the resistance to those efforts should lead us to where we are and who we want to become.
The film industry and book heroes show us that the main character is prevented from achieving his goal by the main enemy … And quite often, this enemy disguises himself as his best friend… The most important secret that they do not tell us is that in real life, that best friend is who we are.
That is why it is said that we must become better than yesterday… compared to ourselves only.
One of my classmates, while participating in the city’s Olympic team at school, liked to run with me to get an inducement to run faster. I agree, it’s easier: there is someone who is better than you and you see him with your own eyes and have a contemplated goal how to develop.
However, there is a more effective way to become better. You should write the shortcomings that you want to deprive yourself of tomorrow yourself and make a plan for how to get rid of them. Moreover, the abstraction “for peace throughout the world” does not work here. We need clear, meaningful steps on the way to achieving the goal.
This is definitely better than going around and grumbling that “only money I need for this”, or “they do not understand me”, or some other excuse. After all, then they suddenly start to understand you… And give money… And then it turns out that money wasn’t really needed for it… It’s not about them at all… It’s about us… Stop following the flow of circumstances, become this flow that creates your circumstances!
Here is another efficient suggestion. Play the game “Find 10 Differences”. Just imagine that picture in your head, or even better, draw on paper who you want to become and compare it with who you are now. Ta-da! Now you have an effective plan to be split for steps for what needs to be changed.
A startup is not growing fast enough? Dropped sales? Don’t know where and how to move?
Stop all your activity and play the “Find 10 Differences” game finally!
